The Ernst & Young (EY) South Africa CA Stream Bursary Programme funds Grade 12 learners and current university students who are pursuing a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) pathway at a SAICA-accredited university.

This bursary doubles as an entry point to EY's Assurance/Audit Graduate Programme, linking funding directly to a minimum 3-year training contract (articles) upon graduation.

1. Academic Merit with Financial Need Bursary:

   • Target: Academically strong students with demonstrated household financial need.

   • Coverage: Comprehensive or partial coverage, which may include a combination of tuition fees, university accommodation, prescribed textbooks, and meal allowances.

2. Academic Merit Bursary:

   • Target: High-achieving academic candidates regardless of financial status.

   • Coverage: Partial contribution towards tuition fees.

Core Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, candidates must satisfy the following:

• Citizenship: Must hold a valid South African Identity Document.

• Academic Discipline: Enrolled in or accepted to study towards a CA(SA)-stream qualification (e.g., BCom Accounting CA-stream, Bachelor of Accounting).

• Institution: Must study at a SAICA-accredited South African public university.

• Performance: Must demonstrate the academic capability to complete a postgraduate CTA and successfully write SAICA professional examinations.

Matric Applicants:

• Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV).

University Applicants:

• Certified Senior Certificate / Matric results.

• Full official academic record, explicitly including 2026 mid-year (Term 1/2) results.

• Student’s 3-month bank statement.

• Proof of household income (parent/guardian payslip or sworn affidavit).
