Sekunjalo Culinary Programme (12 months)

Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality and the Wakanda Food Accelerator are running the Sekunjalo Culinary Programme. It is a 12-month programme for unemployed youth, aspiring chefs, local farmers, food entrepreneurs and SMMEs. The aim is to build technical, practical and entrepreneurial skills for sustainable careers and businesses in the food value chain.

Minimum eligibility

• South African citizen or permanent resident with a valid South African ID
• Grade 12
• Resident within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality
• Unemployed, self-employed or an entrepreneur, and available full-time for the full 12 months
• Interest in a career in hospitality, catering or food production

Required documents

• Latest school report, educational certificate or Grade 12 certificate
• Certified copy of ID
• Proof of residence (from the Councillor)
• Curriculum vitae (CV)
