This is a junior provisioning clerk role supporting procurement, logistics and asset management. You will capture data on departmental systems, help with personnel and clerical admin in the component, and control consumables and inventory.

Minimum requirement

  • Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent)

Knowledge

  • Logistics management duties and practices
  • Data capture and computer operation
  • Collection of statistics
  • Legislative framework governing the Public Service
  • Work procedures in this environment
  • Public Service financial legislation, processes and procedures
  • National Treasury Regulations and Provincial Treasury Instructions
  • Basic operating systems such as PERSAL, BAS, LOGIS (or similar)

  • Customer care and reporting
  • Problem-solving, creative thinking and decision-making
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Key responsibilities

  • Render procurement and provisioning services to the Department
  • Capture data accurately and efficiently on the procurement system
  • Provide personnel administration and clerical support within the component
  • Control consumables and inventory
